Let us tell you a story...
Two sisters, one common passion.
Welcome to Altitude Center! We are Alexandra and Madison Hamel, the founders of this wonderful learning center. We have each spent many years tutoring, teaching and helping many students with homework from a young age. We firmly believe that every student has everything in him or her to succeed, sometimes needing a little extra help to get there!
Bilingual from birth, teaching languages to our students was our first passion, which then spread to all academic subjects. Coupled with our empathetic side and our desire to help those around us, tutoring was a natural choice.

Alexandra is a person of many passions: registered dietitian, business consultant, ex-tutor, serial traveler, and nature lover.
It's Alex who takes care of the backend of Altitude! Organization, management, planning and methodology are subjects very close to her heart, which have enabled her to excel at school and help her students to do the same.
Madison, a great listener with a big heart, she will soon be an elementary school teacher. Currently studying at McGill in teaching, she integrates the best learning techniques and creative tools in her tutoring sessions.
She ensures that each tutor is well qualified and equipped and shares her passion and kindness, as well as her well-refined teaching approach.
Altitude Center, born from an idea.
“One day, I was helping one of my students with his homework. Even in the sixth grade, he was struggling quite a bit, being in a school that isn't in his mother tongue, in addition to having dyslexia. He began to cry, believing that he could never achieve his dream of becoming a doctor. He honestly didn't even think he could finish high school.
I continued to accompany him through his studies until the end of highschool. Not only did we raise his grades from 40% to 85% average, but a few years later, I got a call from him saying that he was accepted into university, majoring in psychology. It was the most rewarding day in my tutoring career. »
